From intimate cellar doors to award-winning restaurants, here’s an itinerary to help you enjoy a seamless blend of bookable experiences and spontaneous adventures.

Day 1

Adelaide – Lyndoch – Nuriootpa – Rowland’s Flat – Marananga – Seppeltsfield 

Total driving distance: 119km

Morning:

  • Depart Adelaide and make your first stop at the Whispering Wall near Lyndoch — a fun stop where you can whisper sweet nothings across the 140-metre curved dam wall and still be heard!
  • Then head to Barossa Distilling Co. in Nuriootpa for a Gin Tasting Experience in their chic, industrial-style tasting room.

Lunch:

  • Enjoy a long lunch at Harvest Kitchen, located at Jacob’s Creek Visitor Centre in Rowland’s Flat. Their relaxed shared style dining experience is designed to highlight the wonderful produce of the region overlooking a stunning vineyard backdrop.

Afternoon:

Dinner:

  • Dine onsite at Appellation at The Louise (advance booking essential), where their seasonal degustation menus are crafted to match local wines.
  • Prefer something more casual? Head to Fino at Seppeltsfield, known for elegant share plates and garden views.

Day 2

Marananga – Tanunda – Lyndoch – Tanunda 

Total driving distance: 32km

Morning:

  • Fuel up with breakfast in your accommodation then go for a brisk morning walk before heading into Tanunda. That fresh country air in your lungs is the best way to start the day!
  • Book a Barossa Valley Trike Tour for a unique couple’s cruise through the vines on a custom three-wheeler motorcycle. Your local guide (and designated driver) will share stories, history and stop at boutique cellar doors along the way.
  • Alternatively, head into Lyndoch and visit a couple of hello SAs favourite wineries. Kies Family Wines do a Wine Flight and Produce Platter for $25 per person which is an easy and affordable way to taste what the Barossa does best. Kellermeister Wines is also great for wine and cider tastings with epic views over the valley.

Lunch: 

  • Grab a table at FermentAsian in Tanunda (lunch offered Thursday – Sunday), for fresh, fragrant South East Asian dishes with a brilliant local wine list.
  • Alternatively, Musque Food & Wine is a stylish little spot with creative small plates and a welcoming vibe.

Afternoon:

  • After lunch, grab a take-away coffee (and maybe a sweet treat) from Barossa Valley Chocolate Company Cafe and explore the main street of Tanunda. From clothing boutiques to homewares, antiques and books — it’s a great way to spend the afternoon (and work up an appetite for dinner). Our favourites are Wohlers for furniture and homewares, Alabaster Store for ladies fashion and gifts and Daisy and Hen for baby and children’s clothing.

Dinner:

  • Book into 1918 Bistro & Grill in Tanunda for classic country hospitality, candlelight and comfort food with flair.
